"The most beautiful discovery true friends can make, is that they can grow separately without growing apart."

"I know we'll be friends for life, sharing our dreams together. As we walk down the road, we'll never think twice, our memories will last forever. And although we're off to different worlds, somehow we're together. And even though we're far apart, our memories are deep within our hearts. These are the times to remember, our memories will last, forever more."

"As we grow older, things must change, but they don't always have to end. Even though it is different now, you will always be my friend."

"The young faces shown in these pictures represent times when our biggest worries were Barbie and Ken's wedding, GI Joe's missing arm, and why we had to eat vegetables at dinner...... Again. Looking at these pictures today, sometimes we, the seniors, wish we could go back to such carefree days. But at the same time moving on with our lives, making new memories, and gaining independence have become exciting realities that were once ideas that seemed so far away. Since 7th grade we have counted down the days until graduation. Now as the day approaches we are still anxious, but somewhat nervous. The faces in these pictures remind us of the people we once and still are, the friends we have grown up with and also with whom we will graduate. Surviving these past 12 years wasn't always easy, but in that time we had some of the best experiences of our lives. Those times are what made it worth while."

"We laughed together, we cried together, God I hope we die together."

"Do you remember all the things we did? And what it's like to be a kid. Being young and skipping school, I guess we must have broken every rule!" - The Ataris, "not a worry in the world"

"There's a big world out there: bigger than prom, bigger than high school . . . and it won't matter if you were the prom queen or the quarterback of the football team, or the biggest nerd. Find out who you are and try not to be afraid of it." - Never Been Kissed

"Remember all of the good times and all of the special people that were with you during them. Let go of the past, but don't forget it because there are a great many things that can be learned from what you have been through. "Love is friendship. Friendship is trust. Trust is courage. And courage is the strength to say goodbye when you'd rather stay." - EE Cummings

"It was in the middle of High School where I realized that things weren't what they seemed to be. It seems like things would never change. That people that the same person who thought was a bitch two years ago is who you think is a bitch now. If nothing seems to change then it just gets worse. Your best friend ditches you, the guy you like has a girlfriend, your dog dies, you and your mom always fight, and no matter how happy you may be one day, it all changes in a matter of twenty-four hours. The world around you seems to be crashing down upon you. And for the love side of your life...you don't want to go there for the pain is so unbarring. The next morning you will wake up and realize that life is not so bad if you are having fun and all of your friends are getting along. You feel as if life can't get any better. Then the next week your friend will pick a fight, your new crush moves away. Life again seems to be down-pouring on you. Meanwhile everyone else is fine. Everyone else is smiling. You begin to wipe away your tears and realize that this is it. This is life. You only got one. So you begin to make more of the happy times happen and you are more aware for all the times it might rain and for the next time you may have an umbrella by your side to protect you." - Stephanie

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments of lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends." - Richard Bach, Illusions

"Goodbye is an easy word to say but try saying it to a friend."

"I'd like to tell today's youth that no matter where life takes you, big cities, small towns, you'll inevitably come across small minds. People who think they're better than you because of minor things like being pretty or popular automatically make you a worthwhile human being. None of these things matter! If you have a strength of character, integrity, a sense of pride, please don't sell them. Don't ever sell out, so when you meet someone for the first time, please don't judge them by their station in life...who knows? They just may end up being your best friend." - Dawson's Creek

"Remember all of the good times and all of the special people that were with you during them. Let go of the past, but don't forget it because there are a great many things that can be learned from what you have been through. And most importantly: follow your heart, stand up for what you believe in, and take your own path, always doing what YOU want to do."

"It's hard to believe I've walked these halls for the past four years. Most of the people that have passed me every day I don't even know. Those I do know and know well are friends I will have forever. A life lesson: you will pass many in your travels and only a select few you will truly know. Don't judge those you only pass respect those you do know."

"I walked through those doors with a half smile on my face.. I walked in expecting to see those 'big seniors' shoving through the hallways, laughing, giving each other bad times. I expected to see them taking their last year and absorbing it all. I expected them to look at me and think, 'Just another lower classmen.' I expected to have one or two in my classes giving the teachers a hard time because they're a 'big senior.' I expected to see my senior friends' faces and to make my last year with them the best that I could. I expected to have a couple more years in this place, if not that, then at least one more. I guess I expected all of the wrong things because I knew that the second I walked through those doors I had become a 'big senior.' This is it, my last year of high school, my last year of those homework assignments that I complained about every day of those 4 years I had been here. Give them back. Please. Give me back those essays. Those book reports. They'll never compare to the things I'm going to have to face in this 'real world' that isn't even a year away from hitting me right in the face. Let me keep my friends. Please. I've been with some of these people since kindergarten. How can it all stop just like that? Better yet, where did it go? How did I let time slip by so fast? Give me time. Just let me tell all these people, all of my friends, how much they mean to me. Let me go back to my freshman year to tell my teachers how much I really did learn. Give me the time to tell them that what they did for not only me, but for everyone else in this place. How they did make an impact on our lives. Stop! Let me tell all of those people who said 'it'll go by fast' how right they were. Slow down. Just please slow down. How sad it is to think that the first day of my last year is gone. I can't bring back the past but I can make the future a past that I'll remember for the rest of my life. After all, I am a 'big senior.'"

"Sure, you're supposed to have total recall of who won the Battle of Hastings and what motivated Hamlet. And probably you should be able to label all five Great Lakes. Perhaps you can...perhaps it's easier to remember that first kiss. Or the time you and your friends couldn't stop laughing in math class. Or your locker combination or cafeteria mystery meat or the scintillating scent in the air when you-know-who glided past your desk. Or maybe it's easier to remember the thrill of passing the final or the fun of the last homecoming game or hugging your best friends in the world goodbye and knowing you'd be in touch forever. But still, wondering just a little: will we always remember?" - a graduation card

"Walking through the halls of high school is quite similar to walking through a battle field. You are never sure what you will find lying around the bend - everyone seems to be thinner, taller, blonder, prettier, and tanner than you. They all seem to be having the time of their lives, despite the educational setting. They all seem to have the most friends and the most people to say hello to walking through the halls. Well, life isn't what it seems. Most of these people just surround themselves with others because they are too deathly scared to be alone. They are so scared that they aren't really friends, they just pretend.. Because without those people they would be nothing. They hurt just like you do, they feel just like you do, they notice the imperfections on their own faces as well, even though your eyes cannot see them. They notice how the girl parallel to them is taller and thinner ... even though you don't. Maybe sometimes it's what you don't see that makes you more alike than you'll ever know."

"I'm so sick of immaturity, of name calling, of labels, of gossip, of HIGH SCHOOL. It just doesn't make sense to me anymore, and I find myself being nice to people that I would rather strangle."

"No one can look back on his schooldays and say with truth that they were altogether unhappy." - George Orwell

"There are some things from our high school experiences that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives and some memories that we chose to forget. "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

"I miss you when something really good happens, because you're the one I want to share it with. I miss you when something is troubling me, because you're the one who understands me so well. I miss you when I laugh and cry, because I know that you are the one that makes my laughter grow, and me tears disappear. I miss you all the time, but I miss you the most when I lay awake at night, and think of all the wonderful times that we spent with each other for those were some of the best and most memorable times of my life. And you were my best friend."

"All I'm saying is, I want to look back and say that I did the best I could while I was stuck in this place. Had as much fun as I could while I was stuck in this place and played as hard as I could while I was stuck in this place."

"When exactly do we go from being kids to being just people...I'm not sure. I do know that it's not about turning a certain age or graduating from school. It happens when you're not paying attention. We go from playing with our friends to playing with our friends' feelings. Without our knowledge or consent childhood slips away in the night and innocence escapes us. And we wake up one morning to find we have become...who we are." - Young Americans

"And so our adventure ends. And some of us found our heroes, and others unconquered their fears. And one might even say we've triumphed. I'm not sure if it happened that day or that summer but somehow, we all felt older and different.
